Local Action Plans

Have your say and help shape future plans for our towns and neighbourhoods.

Local action plans

From May until November 2022, we held a series of public consultations to help develop Local Actions Plans which will assist in transforming towns and neighbourhoods across the local authority.

Our initial survey asked people across East Renfrewshire to identify improvements that could be made to the places they visit regularly and changes they would like to see happen in their neighbourhoods. There were over 6,000 responses from nearly 1,500 individuals.

These ideas have been ranked according to the priority given by each community and then discussed with the relevant Council departments to produce a shortlist of 460 priority options for improvement which you can now select from.

This survey will identify the short, medium and long-term improvements for your community, which will form the Local Action Plan based on the choices made by local people.

Access the priorities options for East Renfrewshire.

The survey will run until 12pm, 6 May 2024 after which draft local action plans for Barrhead, Busby, Clarkston, Eaglesham, Giffnock, Neilston, Newton Mearns and Thornliebank will be developed and will include a list of short, medium and long-term proposals.

Each area will also have a local group made up of elected representatives, community bodies and council officers to oversee and inform the evolution of each Local Action Plan.
