Provost Mary Montague said: 'Remembrance Sunday is an important date in the council's calendar each year, as it gives us an opportunity to pay our respects to all of those that have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life.
'Alongside remembering the fallen, we also honour our veterans and their families, and express our gratitude, to those who fought in the two World Wars as well as in more recent conflicts.
'It is a privilege to be a representative of the council at events on this date. Residents who wish to do so, can also take part in the national moments of reflection.'
The council is committed a community covenant with the Armed Forces and Voluntary Action East Renfrewshire to build on its good relations between the Armed Forces community and partner organisations.
This voluntary statement of mutual support recognises and remembers the sacrifices made by members of the community, including those currently serving as well as their families.
Working with partners, the council is raising awareness and understanding of the issues affecting service personnel and improving local access to a range of supporting agencies.
