This Privacy Notice covers the delivery of EES:ABS (Energy Efficiency, Area Based Scheme) and the national ECO Flexibility eligibility scheme within East Renfrewshire. Referred to as LA ECO Flex4 (Local Authority, Energy Company Obligation) these schemes offer energy efficiency measures to eligible homes; to improve energy efficiency, lower bills and reduce carbon emissions.
We must have a legal basis to process your personal data. Where we use personal data for the purposes for EES:ABS & LA ECO Flex 4, the sections of the law that apply are: GDPR Article 6(1)(e) - processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller
In addition, Sections 36 and 37 of The Digital Economy Act 2017 allows local authorities and energy suppliers to pass data between each other for the purpose of tackling fuel poverty.
Failure to provide your information will result in your application not being processed.
We use your information to:
- assess your eligibility to the scheme
- verify the eligibility of your property
- handle your query
- detect and prevent fraud
- monitor and research
To establish eligibility to the scheme, for the installation of energy efficiency measures and for reporting and auditing purposes, we'll share any required data with:
- ECO providers and contractors
- energy companies
- The Office of Gas and Electricity Markets (Ofgem) who administer the scheme.
- our managing agent - The Wise Group
We'll only use your personal information whilst delivering the service to you and to deal with any questions or complaints that we may receive about, this unless the law requires us to keep it for a longer period. In practice, this means that your information will be kept for seven years and then deleted.
If we need to use your information for research or reports, your information will be anonymised and any information taken from notes (handwritten or typed) during any consultation sessions will be securely destroyed. The information will continue to be used in a summarised and anonymised form in any research reports or papers that are published. The anonymised information in the papers may be of historic interest and may be held in public archives indefinitely.
