Master plans
Find out about the master plans, which were adopted alongside the Local Development Plan.
Master plans have been prepared as Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) to set the planning and infrastructure requirements for 3 key areas identified in the Local Development Plan (LDP). These sites provide a long term supply of land for residential development and for other mixed uses including community and leisure facilities.
The master plans were informed by earlier development frameworks.
Maidenhill/Malletsheugh
The Maidenhill/Malletsheugh site is located in south Newton Mearns and is bordered by the M77 and the Glasgow Southern Orbital (GSO).

Barrhead South
The site is located to the south of Barrhead and is bordered to the north by Springfield Road and the south by the railway line.
Barrhead North
The area covers a number of sites located off Glasgow Road, Blackbyres Road and Grahamston Road.
