Our employability service, Work EastRen, is ready to help local residents prepare for, find and get into work this New Year.

The team, who are based in Barrhead's Lowndes Street, can help find training or employment and through 1-to-1 support, will ensure anyone they support is job ready, confident and prepared for the world of work.

There is a wide-range of support programmes available, which aim to help different groups of people including long-term unemployed, parents, young and care-experienced people, those with a health condition and anyone resettled in East Renfrewshire.

The team offer vocational training programmes aimed at improving applicant's job chances and these range from one-off workshops to longer, more intensive accredited courses. All clients are assigned an adviser who can help with CVs, interview skills and training.

A dedicated Business Liaison Officer also provides a wide range of support and services to local employers, including a free vacancy and recruitment service and access to Employment Recruitment Incentives.
