Dementia-friendly activities in East Renfrewshire

Find out about local groups that support people with dementia, and their loved ones.

Dementia Awareness Week 2024

This Dementia Awareness Week (27 May - 2 June) we want to highlight local groups that support people with dementia, and their loved ones.

There are a range of groups across our communities that can be fun, engaging and safe spaces. There are also a number of health walks which are organised by Voluntary Action East Renfrewshire. The walks listed below are suitable for people with dementia and the Walk Leaders have had Dementia-Friendly training.

For people who are a family carer for a loved one with dementia, the East Renfrewshire Carers centre offers a lot of support, including with adult carer support plans and peer groups. You can find out more on their website.

To find out more about what's on in our communities, the Community Hub Directory is a helpful resource. If you need support with a dementia diagnosis, or looking after someone with dementia, contact Talking Points who can help you find the right resources for you.
