Street trader's licence
Apply and pay for a street trader's licence.
Before you start
To operate as a street trader in East Renfrewshire you may need a licence from the local authority.
A street trading licence isn't needed for:
- the sale of newspapers only
- the sale of milk by or on behalf of a person registered under the Food Safety Act 1990
- the sale of coal or fuel derived from coal or coke
- any activity for which a certificate under the Pedlar's Act 1871 has been granted
- any activity for which a more specific licence is needed
- organising or participating in a public charitable collection, which has been granted permission under the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982

If you don't hear from us within a reasonable period phone 0141 577 4684.
If your application is refused
If your licence is refused you can appeal to the Sheriff by writing to Paisley Sheriff Court.
The appeal must be made within 28 days of the refusal.
