You can now apply for council housing online. To do so you need to sign up to Housing Online. Before applying for a council property, you must be 16 or over.
Your eligibility for housing will depend on:
- your personal circumstances and the level of priority pass you are awarded.
- the area you want to live and the type of housing you need
- whether any suitable empty properties are available to bid on. All our available properties will be advertised on Housing Online.
To register for a Housing Online account, you first need a mygovscot myaccount. This account allows you to access a range of online council services from a single account including Parentsportal, Council Tax and other services, as well as signing up for a Housing Online Account.
If you already have a mygovscot myaccount then login here, otherwise register here.
Once you're logged in select 'Access Housing Online' at the bottom of the page. You must now create a one-time login to Housing Online.
- Select 'Create Account for Unregistered Client'
- Enter the same email address you've used for your mygovscot myaccount and create a password.
- You'll receive an email from no-reply@eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk. If you don't see it, try checking your junk email folder. Open the email and select 'Verify Me'. You'll be redirected to the Housing Online Registration page.
- Enter the required information on the personal, contact and address detail pages.
- Check all the information is correct on the My Summary page.
- Tick the box to accept the terms and conditions.
- Click 'Submit'.
- You'll be presented with a screen confirming you have successfully registered.
- You can now select 'Continue to Login'.
- Enter the username and password that you've just registered and select 'Login'.
- You'll now be logged in to Housing Online.
Once you are registered and logged into Housing Online, to apply for Council Housing you need to select the 'Create New Housing Application tile and go through the various questions making sure everything is answered to the best of your knowledge and accurate.
We'll aim to review and confirm your application within 21 days, we'll send you a letter telling you your priority grouping and the steps on how to bid for Council Housing. Your application will then be 'live'.
