Detached Youth work
Youth workers engage with young people in their local communities, in and around the places where young people spend time.
Detached workers spend time with young people on the streets and in other locations/places where they feel safe and comfortable. Youth Workers build positive relationships with young people.
Detached workers provide confidential advice, information and support on issues that affect the young people they meet. This may include education, employment and training, drugs/alcohol, sexual health, crime diversion including anti-social behaviour.
Detached youth work takes place at evenings and weekends. We are currently spending time in Barrhead, Clarkston/Busby, Neilston and Thornliebank/Giffnock.
