Use this service to apply for a planning certificate.

You can apply to us for a planning certificate under section 50 of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005.

A planning certificate will show that:

  • planning permission has been obtained for the proposed development of a licensed premise
  • or that no such planning permission is required.

You may also need a Section 50 certificate from building standards.

Before you start

Before an application can be made to the Licensing Board for a premises licence, you must obtain a planning Section 50 certificate.

This certificate confirms the suitability of the premises for their intended use.

How much does it cost?

A fee of £138.10 is required for a planning Section 50 certificate.
