Shared information
Information sharing, both within the authority and with other bodies or individuals, has to be necessary, lawful and controlled.
Introduction
Information can be shared within the council and between public authorities for the benefit of clients and stakeholders or in the interests of efficient public services. Sharing relevant information leads to benefits for service users in improved and more joined-up services. However, this sharing has to be within a system of safeguards to ensure that this is carried out lawfully and securely.
Compliance
We've a range of data sharing agreements with third parties to ensure that sharing of information is appropriate and legal. The privacy statements for all services have been gathered together and can be accessed at the link below.
Improvement actions and review
We're currently implementing an Information Asset Register. This will allow for greater clarity and control in relation to the responsibility for records and how they can be shared.
